Experience Yumthang Valley
Popularly known as the "Sikkim Valley of Flowers," Yumthang Valley is an alpine paradise in North Sikkim situated at an elevation of 11,800 feet. Encircled by towering snow-capped Himalayan peaks, the valley is traversed by the meandering Yumthang Chu (Lachung River) and carpeted in lush grazing pastures.
From late February to mid-June, Yumthang transforms into an explosion of vibrant colors as more than 24 species of wild rhododendrons burst into bloom, painting the slopes in vivid crimson, pink, mauve, and yellow. The Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary here protects these rare mountain shrubs.
The valley also houses natural therapeutic sulphur hot springs known for medicinal healing properties, accessible across a traditional suspension footbridge. In winter, the entire valley turns into a deep powder-snow playground.
